Advice of the third richest billionaire in Mexico: invest in bitcoin, stay away from the dollar and the euro

The third richest billionaire in Mexico advised people to stay away from fiat currencies, such as the dollar and the euro, and invest in bitcoin. He stressed that "central banks are printing more money than ever before," describing the matter as "fake money made of paper and lies."

Ricardo Salinas Plego recommends investing in bitcoin, avoiding fiat money

Mexico's third-richest billionaire, Ricardo Salinas Plego, offered some advice on Friday in a video he posted on Twitter to wish his followers a happy holiday. Salinas is the founder and CEO of Grupo Salinas, a group of companies interested in communications, media, financial services, and retail stores. According to Forbes Billionaires List, his net worth is currently $13 billion.

One of the three pieces of advice he gave relates to Bitcoin and central banks. Billionaire said:

Stay away from paper money. Dollar, euro, yen or peso - it's all the same story. It is fake money made of paper and lies. Central banks are printing more money than ever before. Invest in bitcoin.

This was not the first time that Salinas advised people to buy bitcoin. In November, the billionaire tweeted “Buy Bitcoin Now” noting that the US “is looking more and more like any other irresponsible third world country.” He also posted an infographic showing what he described as a “fake money creation metric.”

In June, he announced plans for his bank to accept BTC. “I recommend bitcoin, and my bank and I are working to be the first bank in Mexico to accept bitcoin,” he tweeted. He also believes that “Bitcoin is the new gold,” noting that it is “more portable.”

In December, Salinas announced that its retail chain, Grupo Elektra, one of the leading retailers in Latin America, had begun accepting bitcoin.
